Jiří Mittner (b. 1980, Prague) is a composer, pianist, and lecturer. He studied at the Prague Conservatory and developed his composition skills through masterclasses at Florida State University. He also holds a Ph.D. in economics. From 2003 to 2006, he taught music theory for international students at the Prague Conservatory. His compositions have been recorded and published by Czech Radio, with some works recognized even during his studies. Between 2008 and 2022, Mittner pursued a career in IT management for financial corporations in Prague, Belgrade, Vienna, and Kyiv. Since 2022, he has returned to music as a composer and pianist. He comes from a musical family—his grandfather, Václav Pokorný, was a composer and arranger whose legacy is commemorated in the Czech Republic.
